“Everyone has inside them a piece of good news. The good news is you don’t know how great you can be! How much you can love! What you can accomplish! And what your potential is.”
– Anne Frank
Can you imagine writing this piece of literary goodness, this lovely gem of hopeful kindness, while in hiding to preserve your life? Still looking for the best in humanity, while very much subsisting amidst the horrors of evil.
It is mind boggling.
Anne was a true cheerleader in spite of her tremendous disadvantages.
And so it is that I have been thinking lately. About how lovely it is to find a cheerleader, like Anne. A friend to light the way in this big old world. Someone who just gets you and whom you can latch onto. An encourager. We all need one in our lives, don’t we? That one individual who just knows and says the right words. Knows and does the right things. How beneficial and meaningful that person is to us.
But even better it is to be that cheerleader for someone else.
So tonight, if you are feeling depleted. I am here to say ‘you’ve got this’.
You do.
If you are feeling frustrated, I am also here to tell you I’ve been there, too. I hear you. I really do.
If you are stressed, I get it. These are stressful, stressful times. This is true. You are amongst good company in this regard, friend. I feel it. We all do. It is stressful. There is so much around us to pull us apart, weigh us down.
Are you going through deep waters right now and feel you cannot pull yourself out? Oh, how I wish I could be there to walk through this with you. I have been there, friend. It is not easy. It is worse than that: it is tremendously hard.
You are going to make it. You are going to be okay.
Friend, if you are struggling. If you are barely holding your head above water. If you feel you are drowning in worry, fear, anxious thoughts.
Please know that there you are not alone. And when you are able to see it, I will be there to tell you just how great you can be.
Just how much love your heart holds and how amazing is your incredible potential.
You’ve really got this.
And I do too.
Lori, I love the quote and the powerful message you conveyed in your post. Not only is it beautiful in itself, but it is a reflection your own beautiful spirit. We all need encouragement these days and must “look for the gifts” and “the good news”. It surely there to be found. Thank you!
